Licensing Process

Our Licensing Program is designed to ensure PRP® and our Manufacturing Partners have a mutually beneficial relationship and was developed to provide both companies with the information needed to determine if partnering is a good fit.

PHASE 1: Identify licensing opportunity

PRP® observes and collects data from prospective licensees existing product lines with an established sales history where we can “add value.” PRP® will determine integration compatibility during the phase and collect the data needed to provide a cost proposal.

Prospective Licensees propose product lines to which CORSOL® corrosion solutions will add value.
 

  1. Determine product lines that produce a consistent number of units enabling PRP® to price its materials and maintain regular support competitively. It is important to note that any product line chosen must have historical sales data to support the choice. We cannot consider new product offerings or prototypes.
  2. Decide how many color options will be standard or available.
    • NOTE: Color options have a minimum order quantity of 50 gallons of material. Color matching requires a minimum of 45 days.

PRP® develops a cost proposal. Based on PRP® observations and collected data from prospective licensees’ proposed product lines, the Engineering Review determines integration compatibility. This day-long process by a PRP® Tech Team member observes your current processes, equipment, and workflow to determine if our technology can feasibly and effectively integrate into your current production environment easily and effectively. If we determine our technology may add value to your operation, we’ll present you with a proposal for a Pre-Production Run.
 

  1. Determine equipment and materials needed for PHASE 2: Pre-production Run.
  2. Prospective Licensees sign the NDA.
  3. Confirm the volume of manufacturing business the prospect is willing to convert to PRP®’s solution.
  4. Pre-Production Run Cost Proposal presented by PRP® to Prospective Licensees. This proposal explains how the two companies will jointly sell, produce, and deliver a predetermined number of completed production units to the prospect’s end customer, utilizing existing production facilities and personnel.

NOTE: Pre-selling Corsol® corrosion solutions units before a signed license agreement is prohibited.

PHASE 2: Pre-Production Run

We schedule a Pre-Production Run event where we bring in our Tech Team and produce one or more units of the product intended for licensing. This process enables Prospective Licensees to see our technology and process first-hand. During this phase, PRP® determines whether the Prospective Licensee can be cost-effectively integrated PRP®’s METAL POLYMERIZATION® process into the current manufacturing process. If integration looks promising, PRP® presents the manufacturer with a Pre-Production Run Cost Proposal to jointly sell, produce, and deliver completed production units to end customers utilizing existing production facilities and personnel. While producing the Pre-Production units, our Tech Team captures all data necessary for you to decide if a CORSOL® corrosion solutions license is the right choice.

Confirm receipt of the Prospective Licensee’s signed NDA.

PRP®’s technical team captures all data necessary to present a detailed event analysis, enabling the prospect to decide if a CORSOL® corrosion solutions license is the right choice. The following data is required to be collected, and the Strategic Account Manager will verify the team is accomplishing this goal:

  1. Document detailed processing time for proposed licensing product
  2. Record material usage
  3. Audit and record the dry film thickness of finished units
  4. Measure and record waste
  5. Record touch-ups
  6. Document required repairs

NOTE: PRP® ensures licensed products are protected from undercutting and blistering for 2 to 10 years (depending on the product) by following up with the Pre-Production Run units produced after six months and annually.

PHASE 3: Licensing Proposal

Following the successful Pre-Production Run, PRP® will present a formal Licensing Proposal for your review. This Proposal is the culmination of work done in the first two phases and provides you with all of the necessary information to make an informed decision regarding CORSOL® corrosion solutions.

Confirm the level of business volume for the requested Proposal that the Prospective Licensees intend to commit to purchasing.

PRP® presents the formal Licensing Proposal to the Prospective Licensees for review. This Proposal is the culmination of work done in the first two phases and provides all of the necessary information to make an informed decision regarding CORSOL® corrosion solutions.


The cost for licensing has several factors, including products required, current manufacturing capabilities, and the annual production volume of produced units on the licensed line. Typically, the higher the number of products produced, the lower the cost.

PHASE 4: Production Launch

Upon completion of all PRP® and Prospective Licensee documents, the parties will work jointly to prepare for and execute a successful launch of the licensed product or products.

  1. Confirm completion of all required documents.
  2. Schedule start-up date.
  3. Determine points of contact and licensee CORSOL® corrosion solutions process owners.
  4. Define all necessary preparations to ensure the production launch begins as scheduled.
  5. Develop a realistic timeline.
  6. Confirm necessary preparations are complete and materials are delivered two weeks before production launch.
  7. Launch

PRP® required documents include:

  • License Agreement
  • Terms & Conditions of Sale
    1. 50% payment down on initial order
    2. Net 15 payments
    3. Importance of ordering in advance (Minimum 30-day lead time)
  • Shipping Policy
    1. Licensee pays for shipping
    2. PRP® will assist with shipping set up if account# and carrier are provided
  • Freeze Protection Requirement/Policy in winter months
    1. The need to verify their Freeze Protection service is real
    2. Potential freeze embargos during extreme cold
    3. Possibility of ordering in advance to avoid Jan/Feb shipping
  • New Customer Intake Form

NOTE: We provide a production licensee audit annually to ensure the end user is happy. The License Agreement is renewed based on the results of the yearly inspection by PRP®.
